The educational success of children and adolescents with a Disruptive Behavior Disorder and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) involves the presence of caring and understanding teachers who are actively and willingly involved in the process of working with students with behavioral and organizational difficulties. Ongoing consistent implementation of behavioral intervention and curriculum modifications in the classroom setting is paramount to treatment success.
The Sunfield Center ADHD and Disruptive Behavior Disorders Service offers school consultation to assist in identifying a child’s educational and behavioral needs and developing and implementing a plan to meet those needs.
As part of the consultation, we:
• Conduct school observations
• Discuss with teachers/paraprofessionals appropriate classroom interventions and accommodations
